Saudi Arabia announces Eid-ul-Azha for June 6

 


Saudi Arabia announced that May 28 will mark the first day of Dhu Al Hijjah, as the crescent moon was sighted in the Kingdom this evening, reports Gulf News.
Accordingly, Eid-ul-Azha 2025 will be observed on June 6, as it always falls on the 10th day of Dhu Al Hijjah. And, the Arafat Day will be observed on June 5.Muslims perform the annual Hajj pilgrimage during the Islamic month of Dhu Al Hijjah which culminates in celebrating Eid-ul-Azha on the 10th day of Hajj rituals.

Eid-ul-Azha or the 'Feast of Sacrifice, is celebrated throughout the Muslim world as a commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim's (Abraham's) willingness to sacrifice everything for God.

Egypt flies home 71 nationals from Libya after unrest

Egypt has flown 71 nationals home from the Libyan capital Tripoli after deadly clashes between rival militias rocked the city earlier this month, the foreign ministry said.

Friday's special flight by flag carrier EgyptAir "enabled the repatriation of 71 Egyptian citizens who had expressed a desire to come home", the ministry said.
